A Tragic Chapter in History
The Holocaust, also called the Shoah, was the systematic genocide of six million Jews by Nazi Germany and its collaborators during World War II, mainly between 1941 and 1945. Led by Adolf Hitler, the Nazis aimed to completely annihilate the Jewish people. Victims were forced into ghettos, subjected to mass shootings, starvation, and slave labor, and deported to extermination camps such as Auschwitz, Treblinka, and Sobibor, where gas chambers were used for mass murder.
The Holocaust ended with the defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945, leaving deep scars on humanity. Today, it is remembered as one of history’s darkest chapters and a warning against hatred and Antisemitism.
