Why Christians Should Stand with Israel Now More Than Ever

What if I told you that Israel, the nation God calls His own, is being vilified, delegitimized, and targeted not only on the battlefield, but in the court of public opinion? What if I told you that the promises of God to Israel are under attack in headlines, classrooms, and even pulpits? And what if I told you that silence right now isn’t neutral, it’s siding with the lie?

This is not the time for Christians to remain silent, “stay out of politics,” or mumble something about peace and look away. This is the time to stand. And the truth is, Christians who believe God’s Word have more reason than anyone to stand with Israel fiercely, unapologetically, and now more than ever.
1. God’s Covenant Hasn’t Expired
Let’s start with the foundation: the covenant God made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was never revoked. It wasn’t “symbolic.” It wasn’t a temporary lease. In Genesis 17:7-8, God says:
“I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant… I will give to you and to your descendants after you all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”
Everlasting means everlasting. You can wrestle with it, question it, or try to interpret it differently, but God’s promise to Israel stands. If we believe the Bible, then we must believe that God keeps His word, especially this one. To deny Israel’s right to exist in the land God gave them is to deny the truth of God’s covenant.

2. Israel’s Enemies Are Not Just Israel’s Enemies
This isn’t just about borders or politics, it’s about truth versus deception, light versus darkness. The forces that hate Israel aren’t merely opposed to Jews; they’re opposed to the God of Israel. They don’t just want Jewish people gone; they want to erase the God who chose them, the Scripture He authored, and the moral framework He gave the world.
When radical Islamist movements chant “From the river to the sea,” they aren’t just talking about removing Jews from their homeland; they’re talking about erasing the witness of God’s faithfulness. The same hatred that burns for Israel burns for Christians, because Christianity’s roots are Jewish. Bottom line - Israel's enemies are God's enemies and therefore your enemies too.
3. History Should Have Taught Us This by Now
Those who choose to remain silent should remember one word: Holocaust. We never forget how people continued with their lives while Jews were sent to the slaughter by the Nazis.
The world once told itself it would “never forget.” Yet here we are, just decades later, watching the same antisemitic lies resurface, now dressed up in hashtags, UN resolutions, and academic jargon or protests. We’re watching mobs chant for Israel’s destruction on Western streets.
When the Jewish people are demonized, history has shown that violence follows. The silence of “good people” didn’t protect Jews in 1939, and it didn’t protect the world that stood by, either. Ignore it now, and the hatred aimed at Israel will eventually find its way to your doorstep.

4. Jesus Was Jewish
For some, this is an uncomfortable fact. Jesus was not temporarily Jewish as part of a mission. He was born into a Jewish family, lived among a Jewish people, and taught from the Hebrew Scriptures. His earliest followers were Jewish, and the movement we now call Christianity began in a Jewish context. And history’s final chapter is tied to Jerusalem, not to Rome, Washington, or Geneva.
Supporting Israel isn’t about backing an abstract cause; it’s about recognizing the people and the place where God chose to step into human history.
5. The Lies Are Getting Louder
Today’s anti-Israel propaganda is sophisticated. It speaks the language of “human rights” while ignoring the terror groups that hide behind civilians. It speaks of “justice” while justifying murder. The truth is, Israel is the one fighting for real human rights - demanding freedom for our kidnapped civilians, standing against the slaughter of innocents, and resisting a terrorist regime that oppresses its own people.
Justice is not served by allowing Hamas to keep ruling through fear, violence, and corruption. Justice is freeing hostages. Justice is protecting life. Justice is ending the grip of a dictatorship that thrives on bloodshed.
6. Your Faith Demands Courage, Not Cowardice
Neutrality feels safe. It keeps you from awkward conversations, it protects your social media feed, and it avoids upsetting friends. But faith isn’t meant to be safe, it’s meant to be bold.
Standing with Israel doesn’t mean you endorse every political decision it makes. It means you recognize its divine right to exist, defend itself, and thrive. It means you refuse to side with lies. And it means you understand the spiritual significance of this tiny strip of land in God’s plan for the world.

Psalm 122:6 says:
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you.’”
That’s not a suggestion. It’s a command. And prayer is just the beginning. Christians can speak truth when lies spread, challenge antisemitism when it appears, and support Israel’s right to live in safety and dignity.
The enemies of Israel are loud. The question is: will Christians be louder in truth?
If you abandon Israel in this moment, you abandon a central promise of God. But if you stand, unashamedly, you stand with the Author of that promise. And when history looks back on this time, let it be said that Christians didn’t stay silent.
