The Real Reason the UN Is Obsessed With Israel

Why is it that a tiny democratic nation, the size of New Jersey, surrounded by dictatorships, terror regimes, and failed states, ends up being the most condemned country at the United Nations? Why is Israel — a thriving, free country where Arabs serve in parliament, women lead in tech, and religious minorities are protected, constantly under attack by the so-called global peacekeepers?

The United Nations isn’t obsessed with Israel because of justice. It’s obsessed because of politics, power, and a deep, systemic bias rooted in antisemitism.
A Numbers Game of Hypocrisy
Let’s start with some facts. According to UN Watch, between 2015 and 2022, the UN General Assembly passed 140 resolutions against Israel. For comparison, Iran got 10. North Korea? 6. China? A stunning zero. Hamas, a recognized terrorist organization that fires rockets into Israeli cities and uses Palestinian civilians as human shields, barely got any clear condemnation.
The UN Human Rights Council is packed with countries like Cuba, and up until recently Pakistan and Venezuela; regimes with zero moral authority – and they’re the ones lecturing Israel on human rights? That’s not just hypocrisy. That’s madness.
Why the Obsession?
There are three main reasons.
1. Numbers and Oil: The Arab and Muslim blocs hold massive voting power at the UN. When you control over 50 votes just through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (the largest organization after the UN), you can pass any anti-Israel resolution you want. And let’s not forget: many of those countries control oil. Western nations will stay silent or even join the anti-Israel mob just to keep the oil flowing and the deals coming. Morality is cheap when gas prices are on the line.
2. Deflection from Real Crimes: It’s a brilliant PR move for dictatorships. Instead of talking about how women are killed in Iran, how Christians are slaughtered in Nigeria, how journalists are jailed in Turkey or how the Chinese Communist Party runs concentration camps in Xinjiang – let’s talk about Israel! The only Jewish state in the world. The only place in the Middle East where Arabs vote freely, build businesses, and serve as judges.
3. Old-Fashioned Jew-Hatred: Unfortunately, Antisemitism didn’t die with the Holocaust. It just changed its clothes. Today it hides behind “human rights” language, behind slogans like “from the river to the sea” – a genocidal chant calling for the erasure of Israel. The UN has become a theater where antisemitism is not only tolerated, but legitimized.
As the prophet Isaiah wrote, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness” (Isaiah 5:20). That’s exactly what the UN does. It praises terror regimes and condemns a democracy.

The UNRWA Scam
And don’t even get me started on UNRWA, the UN agency supposedly helping Palestinian refugees. In reality, it’s a factory of hatred. UNRWA schools teach kids that Israel must be destroyed. Their textbooks glorify terrorists. During the October 7 Hamas massacre in 2023, dozens of UNRWA employees were directly involved in the slaughter of Israeli civilians. And yet, the agency still gets billions in international funding.
Ask yourself this: Why does the UN have a separate refugee agency just for Palestinians? All other refugees in the world are under UNHCR. Only the Palestinians have their own agency. Why? Because it’s not about helping refugees, it’s about keeping the conflict alive.
Israel Is the Mirror They Hate
Israel is a mirror. It reflects everything these corrupt regimes hate about themselves.
Israel is what happens when freedom wins. When a people return to their land after 2,000 years of exile, speak their ancient language again, defend themselves, build skyscrapers out of desert, and stand up to the world with pride. That kind of success, especially Jewish success, threatens the old order.

Israel exposes their lies. And for that, they hate her.
But let me tell you something else: they can’t destroy what God has blessed.
Israel isn’t perfect. No country is. But it is moral. It is just. And it has a right to exist, to defend itself, and to thrive. The UN can pass 1,000 more resolutions. It won’t change reality. It won’t erase truth. Because truth doesn’t come from Geneva. It comes from Jerusalem.
Christians and Jews around the world, it’s time to stop looking at the United Nations like it’s some moral compass. It’s broken. It’s corrupted. And it’s obsessed with Israel because Israel is a light in a very dark room. That light makes them uncomfortable.
But that’s exactly why we must keep shining it.
Psalm 121 says: “He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” Let them talk. Let them condemn. Let them shout. Israel will still stand. We are not alone. We never were.
So the next time you see another resolution against Israel, don’t be discouraged. Be proud. Because when you’re catching flak, it means you’re over the target.

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is form against Israel shall prosper.
